2023!

What a year!

Thanksgiving is not enough to express how grateful I am. I mean, seriously, God being God through thick and thin? It’s like having a VIP pass to the party of life.

On the career front, I earned a new certification in Project Management. It feels great to learn something new and add it to my professional growth. I am proud of myself for achieving this milestone.

In the kitchen, I tuned up my cooking skills, I got better at cooking special fried rice after many practice rounds of burnt meals, and now I do special fried rice like a boss. I still have so many things I would like to learn to cook but for now, let me dance to my little wins.

Cooks in high chef behaviour 😎

I decided to move on from some people I used to call my friends this year. I realized that our friendship was too one-sided, and I had been lying to myself. So, in 2023, I finally told myself the painful truth about what I needed to do next and who I needed to let go of.

At the moment, I’m learning French using Duolingo. I’ve always found French an intriguing language, and I needed a break from learning Japanese for a while. Although I was consistent with my French lessons, I had to drop off at some point due to heavy work deadlines. But the good news is, I got back on track again and again, refusing to give up no matter how many times I slipped up.

The best part is, unlike my old self, I am now more gentle with my learning process. This year, I discovered some aspects of myself, which I would love to write about on another day.

So, here’s to 2023 – the year of wins, growth, and dancing through it all. Cheers to keeping it real and whatever craziness 2024 has in store. Ready or not, here we come!

All my love,

Yogi of Africa
